Thanks for visiting with us at First United Methodist Church. We are a community of believers that are passionate about loving God and one another. The Bible uses many word pictures to describe Christians as community: the family of God (Eph. 2:19), the body of Christ (I Cor. 12:12-31) and the temple of the Holy Spirit made up of “living stones” (I Corinthians 6:9; I Peter 2:4-5, Eph. 2:21). All of these images illustrate our interconnectedness and our need for God each other. But “FAMILY” is perhaps what best fits this church community…
Our rich history and unique geographic context has help shape our core values and it’s because of this, we have a passion for people, our community, our nation and our world. Our church culture is characterized by intimate worship, seeking the Presence of God, promoting family values and a love for our community. Together we are moving toward revival on a personal, congregational and community level.
Whether it’s your first time or you’ve recently become part of the” church family” or you’ve been part of this community of believers for generations, we want to welcome you to this website and our church. We also want to help you look for ways to get more connected and involved.
You don’t need to become a member to thrive and be actively involved at First United Methodist Church. In fact many of the “First Family” are not members. But for those who do choose to become members, we believe that there are many joys and benefits in making this commitment. When a believer joins a particular congregation, he or she is bearing witness to a union that has already happened in the heart.
Are you searching for something more in life? Our goal at FUMC is to discover more about God and ourselves, together. We are a church community that rejoices in our opportunities to gather together to celebrate our identity as the family of God. On Sunday’s our goal is to create an environment in which people can experience the love of The Father through Jesus Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit.
Jesus tells his followers and us that… “I am the way and the truth and the life.” We’re here to laugh, learn and love one another along the way. We’re here to help each other navigate through the truth of God’s promises as revealed in Scripture. We’re here to help each other to discover the life God offers us in Christ Jesus.
Please join us as we discover all that God has in store for us, together!
